The Himalayas and Sacred Vedanta

with Swamiji Atmanandendra Saraswati, Mataji

You are invited to join a pilgrimage of expansive self-inquiry,  as you experience Vedantic commentary from one of the greatest teachers ever, Sri Swamiji.



 Delhi – Dharamsala - Mysore (via Bangalore)



Swamiji, 96 years of age, the world’s preeminent Vedantin, will offer discourses and responses to your questions.



His sister, 

Mataji, a living model of Vedanta philosophy, will suggest practical application within the Vedantic tradition.



Sri Shyamji will be offering teachings and sacred sounds and mantras that will facilitate your experience, by creating an extraordinary space (Soorya Akasha) that deepens the quality of your meditation.



Your pilgrimage includes ancient cities and sacred temples, where blessings of the residing deities may lead to significant al transformation.

August 3

The group departs Delhi for Dharamsala, Himalayas, by plane.


August 3 - 9

Tour the extraordinary surrounding areas, taking dharshan (blessings) at ancient, sacred temples including two, of the fifty-one unique Shakti Peethas, each with an artifact of divine Shakti preserved. Personal time activities may include visits to a renowned spa for its treatments.

Historic city, Dharamsala, home to the present Dali Lama and headquarters of the Tibetan government. Explore the Dali Lama’s private temple, library, and the town reflecting the Tibetan culture and arts.

Temple visits include:

A 500 year-old Shivaji temple, Aghanjar Mahadev is surrounded by perfect silence.

It is believed that Arjuna, one among the Pandava brothers of the Mahabharata, was once on his way to Kailash Mountains.  Lord Shiva appeared to him at this spot and blessed him to have victory over the Kauravas. There is a small waterfall also behind the temple with water flowing continuously around the temple.


At the Kunal Pathri Temple, amongst tea gardens, you will visit one of the fifty-one Shakti Peethas (divine places of the Mother Goddess) of India - where an artifact of the divine Shakti is preserved.




The Bhagsunath Shivaji Temple, of great importance, the temple is one of the oldest ancient temples The majestic temple was built by King Bhagsu in dedication to Lord Shiva and the local deity Bhagsu Nag. The two pools around the Bhagsunath temple, fed from a sacred spring, are believed to contain miraculous powers of healing.





Sacred visits with Swamiji and Mataji each afternoon.

Talks by Sri Shyamji that integrate our learning in Vedanta with the tantric approach, sacred sounds, temple visits, and reflective time at the Ayurvedic Center, will encompass our days. Visit the town’s world famous sights including the legendary Mysore Palace (including an evening illumination).




August 16 

Return for the night, to Bangalore, to catch your early flights home on August, 17th 

This Journey concludes on August 17 and another beginsexpect a transformation!


Program Details

Participation is limited to 12 participants, your Journey entails walking moderate distances. Participants should be ready to travel as part of a group and experience cultural differences with grace. Modest dress is requested.

Land Program Cost

Price $3950 includes all air and land travel within India.

Not Included:

  • Airfare to and from India

  • Personal items and laundry




    What to bring:

  • Modest clothing covering the torso and legs, and non-leather items, (for temple visits)
  • Personal medications and nutrients
  • Bath towel and top sheet for the ashram
